Privacy policy

What this site collects, what stays in your browser, and which third parties are involved.

Last updated: 14 October 2026

bookmarksfor.dev is a curated directory of developer resources. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and no ads. This page lists everything the site does with data about you, and who else is involved.

What we collect

Without asking (no cookies). The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights count page views and measure load performance in aggregate. They set no cookies and do not identify you across sites. Like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address to deliver pages and keep the service secure.

Only if you click "Allow". When you accept the analytics banner, the site loads Mixpanel (EU data residency). It records the pages you view (path only, never the query string), the clicks and scrolls you make on the site, and a session replay of your visit. Text you type into form fields is masked in replays. Mixpanel keeps an anonymous visitor ID in your browser's local storage. If you click "No thanks" or ignore the banner, Mixpanel is never loaded and nothing is sent to it.

If you email us. Messages to the contact address are kept only as long as needed to reply.

What stays in your browser

The site stores a few values in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device:

  • theme: your light or dark mode choice.
  • analytics-consent: your answer to the analytics banner.
  • The UTM builder's recent links, if you use that tool.

Every tool in the toolbox runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you paste, convert or generate there is uploaded.

Third-party services that load in your browser

To show logos and previews, some images come straight from third parties, which then see your IP address and the page that requested them:

  • Google (google.com/s2/favicons) for site icons next to resources.
  • WordPress mShots (s0.wp.com) for screenshot previews of some resources.

Links to the resources we list go to other websites with their own privacy policies. Outbound links carry a ref=bookmarksfor.dev parameter so those sites can see where the visit came from. Sponsored and affiliate links are labelled as such.

Your choices and rights

  • Change your analytics answer: clear this site's data in your browser (site settings → clear data). The banner will ask again on your next visit.
  • Access or deletion: under the GDPR and Turkey's KVKK you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
