App Store Connect rejects a screenshot that is a few pixels off, and the simulator you happened to record on is rarely the one Apple asks for. This tool takes whatever captures you have and redraws them at an exact store size: filling and cropping when the shapes are close, or fitting and padding with a colour when they are not. It flattens the result onto a solid background so there is no alpha channel for the upload to complain about.

How it works

  1. 01Pick screenshots and a target size. The list is grouped by store; App Store Connect only requires the iPhone 6.9″ set (and iPad 13″ if you ship on iPad) and scales them down for smaller devices.
  2. 02Fill scales the capture until it covers the whole frame and crops the overflow evenly from both sides. Use it when the shapes are close — an iPhone 16 Pro capture into the 6.9″ size loses only a sliver.
  3. 03Fit scales the capture until all of it is visible and pads the rest with the background colour. Use it for a different shape, such as a phone capture into an iPad size.
  4. 04Each image is drawn onto an opaque canvas, so the PNG has no alpha channel. If your browser still writes one, the row says so; switching to JPEG avoids it.
  5. 05Rows warn when the shapes differ by more than 3% (expect visible cropping or bars) and when the capture is smaller than the target (it is being enlarged).
  6. 06Download each file or all of them as a zip, named with the preset and size.

Use cases

  • Turning iPhone 16 or 17 simulator captures into the 1320 × 2868 set App Store Connect asks for.
  • Producing iPad 13″ screenshots from a smaller iPad simulator.
  • Making Google Play phone and tablet screenshots from the same captures.
  • Fixing the 'dimensions of one or more screenshots are wrong' error on upload.
  • Flattening screenshots that carry an alpha channel.
  • Batch-resizing a whole set of localised screenshots at once.

Frequently asked questions

What screenshot sizes does the App Store require in 2026?

For iPhone, the 6.9″ display size: 1320 × 2868 or 1290 × 2796 pixels in portrait (or the same rotated for landscape). For iPad, the 13″ size: 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732. App Store Connect scales these down for every smaller device, so most apps need only these two sets. Older sizes such as 6.5″ (1284 × 2778) and 5.5″ (1242 × 2208) are still accepted and are in the list.

Which simulator should I take App Store screenshots on?

An iPhone 16 Pro Max or 17 Pro Max simulator captures exactly 1320 × 2868, so no resizing is needed. Any other iPhone works too: open its captures here, choose iPhone 6.9″ and Fill. The shapes of modern iPhones are within a percent of each other, so the crop is invisible.

What sizes does Google Play accept?

Phone and tablet screenshots must be PNG or JPEG, between 320 and 3840 pixels on each side, with the long side no more than twice the short side. 1080 × 1920 (9:16) is the common phone size. The feature graphic is exactly 1024 × 500. Those are all presets here.

Why does App Store Connect reject my screenshots?

The usual causes are a size that is not on Apple's list (even by a few pixels), the wrong orientation for the size, or a file with an alpha channel. This tool outputs exact sizes on an opaque background, which addresses all three.

Fill or Fit — which should I use?

Fill when the capture and the target have nearly the same shape: it gives a full-bleed screenshot and crops a few pixels. Fit when they do not — a phone capture into an iPad frame, or portrait into landscape — and choose a background colour that suits your app. The row's warning tells you when the shapes differ enough to matter.

Are my screenshots uploaded?

No. They are decoded and redrawn on a canvas in this page, and the zip is built in JavaScript. Nothing is sent anywhere.
